with an Intel® 852/855 Chipset? (1ghz+ or equilivance with 512mb of ram)

If so, what are your settings and does it run smoothly on that setting or do you experience extreme lag?

I'm planning but buy GW but this is the only concern stopping me from doing so.. if anyone could clear things up for me it'll be greatly appreciated

The minimum is 800Mhz, so I doubt you wouldn't be able to play.

With 512 MB RAM, you should be fine. What kind of graphics card is your notebook running?

I've seen other places that people have played on notebooks as well, so you should be all set to go.

512 MB DDR Ram

40 Gig Harddrive
T3

It can run on 800x600 with medium settings smothly while on 1024 x 768 with textures on medium and everything else on low heh.

I ran it on my Toshiba Satellite 1410 in the E3 event and it worked fine.

IF that chipset is a graphics accelerator then heck yes (sorry I'm too tired to look). I ran it on mine w/ more than just the lowest settings (can't remember what):

1.5 Ghz
512MB RAM
GeForce GO 5200 64MB

I'm posting for a cousin of mine that wants to know if his laptop would be able to run Guild Wars (at all).

He's running a, Toshiba a 10
512ram
2ghz
intel ( R) 82852/82855 GM/GME graphics

(I'm not quite sure how to check if the integrated card is a 'graphic accelerated' card, so I guess I have to ask here)

My 852/855 is problematic with inventary because clicking on items causes error almost _every_ time an error in ialmrnt.dll/ialmdd5.dll blocking the game or giving blue screen.

Playing with a P4 1,2 M processor, 512 ram and ATI 9600 Mobility graphics card, no problems here.

How is your 852/855 in other respects? I'm sure that they'll be able to patch said inventory problem, but does the game run smoothly?

i'm having the same trouble with the bluescreen when i click on items in my inventory...i have the toshiba satellite with the intel 852/855 integrated graphics chipset as well.....any workarounds or settings changes to help this would be much appreciated! i've put in a tech request from the guild wars guys, i'll let you know i they tell me anything.

I am having the same problem with my intel 828/855 card....I posted something similar to this a little farther up the forum. If anyone can find a fix for this, pleaseeeeeee let us know...it is killing this otherwise wonderful game.

well, this just in from tech support: "on review, your computer does not meet the specifications to play guild wars." so, if your computer has the the intel 828/855 card you're basically SOL. unless somebody comes up with a workaround.....

I have an s5000 series laptop of ASUS. Which also has the 852/855GM/GME videocard. I had exactly the same problems as you guys. Also the blue screen with the error.

I tried it with the intel driver 4.11 and 4.10. But with both i had problems. Than i thought let's try the videocard driver of my own supplier. This is an even older driver than the previous two, but now i can play guild wars error free. Since this new driver it has not yet crashed. I can use my invetory and everything.

So choosed the s5000 series laptop. Than i choosed the s5n. And than the first vga driver in the list. Also a direct link:

I'm on my laptop with an Intel Extreme II 82852/82855 Card. When i installed GW it told me my Graphics card do not conform , but i ignored it anyway. The game runs fine without that inventory problem.

I'm using Drivers version 6.14.10.3943 [I got it from Intel's Site in January somewhere].
I believe the latest drivers version is 14.11 , which i haven't installed.

like/silvertemplar, could you post the link where you got the driver from please i'm having trouble still as i cant find the exact driver. Keep getting the blue screen of death. I'm using the Intel 855GM graphics card, if anyone has a solution to this problem please let me know. Thanks

Most intel video chip sets lack real 3d acceleration. In most cases Intel chipsets are geared to running office style application like Word or Excel. While you will be able to run the game you will more then likely have lots of fun hiccups. I believe this has more to do with the video drivers and chipset then the game itself. As most games now a days are geared toward ati and nvidia based systems that rely heavily on some sort of full Direct3d Compliance. While Im aware that some of the intel chipsets are compliant from experience most of them lack the hardware to make the compliance useful.

The 852/855 is actually quasi-DX9. I say quasi, cause it's not fully there, but those should run it fine.

And a 1 GHz Pentium M is roughly equivalent to a 1.7 P4. Architecture redesign.
